Outside of Time

Something that has been puzzling me until my brain hurts is this: How can God be everywhere at once, listen to everyone's prayers and have the time to know every time a sparrow falls? It just doesn't seem to be possible! No human can be at 2 places at once, let alone every single place! Maybe this is why we find it so hard to believe that God can be. But God is not human (except for when He is Jesus).

Someone once told me that God exists outside of time. After all, the bible does tell us that in the beginning there was nothing. So that means that God also invented time, and for that to be possible it makes sense that He exists outside of it. To make something requires a certain understanding of what it does, how it works and how it can be manipulated. So it stands to reason that God would understand exactly how time works, what it does and how it can be manipulated.

Most of us would have seen or read at least one story where time has been manipulated by using some sort of device. But whether it be Hermione's hourglass necklace or the Delorian from back to the future the result is much the same: the user can move to whatever time he or she chooses and can even be in two places at the same time. If they can do this with a limited understanding of "time" and being within it, imagine what God could do with a much better understanding of "time" and being outside of it. Couldn't God also be in more than one place at once, or if He manipulated time enough, even everywhere at once?

Couple this with an intelligence beyond compare with even the smartest humans you know, and it becomes easier to see how God could be able to do all those things; hear everyones prayers, perform miracles, keep the world turning and even know when sparrows fall.
